French doors are a timeless choice for garden access. Two panels that open outward – or inward if preferred – creating a generous, inviting opening between a living space and a garden, terrace or balcony. They are simpler than bi-fold or sliding systems, more affordable, and for openings up to around 1800mm wide, they are often the most practical and aesthetically fitting solution.

We fabricate French doors in both aluminium and UPVC at our Aldershot workshop. Every pair is made to your exact opening dimensions, in your chosen colour or finish, and installed by our own team.

Aluminium French doors

Our aluminium French doors are fabricated with thermally broken profiles and high-performance glazing as standard. The slim profiles produce a clean, uncluttered appearance that suits both contemporary homes and period properties. Available in any RAL or BS colour, including dual-colour finishes.

Aluminium French doors are the natural choice for homeowners who want a premium product that will look and perform well for decades. The rigidity of the material means the doors hang and close cleanly year after year without the adjustment issues that can affect wider UPVC doors over time.

UPVC French doors

Our UPVC French doors deliver excellent thermal performance and very low maintenance at a competitive cost. Multi-chamber profiles with steel reinforcement provide good structural rigidity and long-term reliability.

Available in white as standard, with cream, grey, anthracite grey, black and wood-effect foil finishes also available. UPVC French doors are a popular and practical choice for rear garden access on a wide range of residential property types.

Opening options

French doors can be configured to open outward (the most common arrangement) or inward. Outward opening is generally preferred as it does not require clearance inside the room, but inward opening may be required by planning conditions on some conservation area properties.

Both doors can be made fully operable, or one can be fixed and opened only by operating its own internal handle – known as a slave door or astragal arrangement. Multipoint locking is fitted to both leaves regardless of configuration.

French doors can also be fitted with sidelights – fixed glazed panels on one or both sides of the door pair – to widen the overall frame and bring in additional light without increasing the size of the structural opening.
